SPORTS

Sport is an integral part of a student's education. At The Asian School, we believe in that deeply and so have provided for multiple sports facilities. Apart from these marked areas, there are plenty of other open spaces where students perform exercise drills and can engage in any other sport or miscellaneous activity in which they are interested.

The Asian School is proud to be one of the only schools in the Kingdom to have a regulation size football ground.

The school has 3 outdoor basketball courts of which one is built to competition standards. There is also an indoor court in the air-conditioned Multi-Purpose Auditorium for the summer months.

The Multi-Purpose Auditorium has 4 badminton courts that can be used simultaneously along with the other indoor games available in the auditorium.

There are 2 outdoor courts that can be used for Volleyball or Throwball. There is also an indoor court in the air conditioned Multi-Purpose Auditorium that can be used in the summer.

There are multiple portable table tennis tables of which some are placed in the auditorium while some are in the main school building.

There is a Long Jump pit that is used for both Long Jump and High Jump.

KINDERGARTEN PLAY AREA

Gross Motor skills development is an important part of early childhood. The Kindergarten Play area has been designed and implemented with this in mind. It is a cordoned off space with safe play equipment which only Kindergarten children are allowed to use. The area is covered on 3 sides by the school building and also has a roof which provides essential shade from the sun.

YOGA

Unlike exercise which nurtures our physical personality, yoga caters to all aspects of our personality; physical, emotional, mental, psychic and spiritual, which leads to the making of a complete human being. Regular practice of this holistic science leads us to happiness and contentment. Yoga is integrated in the school curriculum for classes IX to X wherein children practice yoga for one period once a week and are also encouraged to practice outside of the school on a daily basis.

SCHOOL BAND

The Asian School Band is a prestigious, well-disciplined and talented musical group established in 1992. The School Band has performed at every major School event and has also performed, by invitation, at outside venues and events in Bahrain. Band members are trained under a qualified Band Master.

MUSIC

The school has a dedicated Music Room with instruments where music is taught. Music helps build imagination and intellectual curiosity, it helps with emotional development and memorization and most importantly helps children relax and have fun. The talented Asian School music group play at school events and are always a hit with the audience.

COMPETITIONS

TALENT FEST COMPETITION

Cultural Extravaganza which includes different competitions. Mandatory participation of Students. Top overall scorers are declared as the Kalashiromani (Female) & Kalapraveen (Male)

BOOK WEEK COMPETITION

To promote the habit of reading and appreciation for literature and language. Various competitions are also held such as Outer Cover Design Competition, Biography of Authors, Poster Making, Caption/Slogan and Picturisation.

CHACHA NEHRU COMPETITION

Fancy Dress Competition for LKG to Grade 3 Students who come dressed as the former Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru on the occasion of Children’s Day.

RANGOLI COMPETITION

Competition for Grade 10 students in rangoli art in which patterns are created on the floor using materials such as colored rice, dry flour, colored sand etc.

INDOOR/OUTDOOR SPORTS

Conducted during Sports Week for different indoor games such as carroms, chess, badminton, scrabble, table tennis and outdoor games such as basketball, volleyball, football, tennis and track and field events…

Science talent search contest conducted by Science India Forum, Bahrain, supported by the Embassy of India and ISRO
